I FOUND AN APT!!!!!! Now I just have to wait to see if they accept my application and let me lease the apt. It's up near 145 and Convent, but what a beautiful area. I'm stoked! Anyway, that was the first portion of my day. The second half included coming home and watching a movie online and singing. I tried to work on the lyrics to the song that I was writing yesterday, but without the beat it's a little difficult since the song isn't in my body yet. I am starting to get ideas for my second verse, but nothing concrete as of yet. The rest of my vocalizing today was on the Bruno Mars song that I am really hoping to sing at the concert for Japan that Kurt is a part of. It would be a great way for me to get my performance for the challenge done, but to also show myself and my craft to the world on a bigger stage than just an intimate night with friends and family. All in all I would say about 50 min of singing today.
This evening I performed with Try-On Entertainment at the Top of the Rock for Nissan. The performance was a flash mob that featured myself and some very good friends of mine. I got to gather their attention by interrupting the president of the company and starting to say a few historical facts about the Top of the Rock. As I am backing up to gain a better attention, I bump into Maho who is walking behind me. He hits the floor and the crowd both gasps and laughs. The beat hits and he's off and running. We all join in one by one until there were ten of us dancing on the observation deck. It was a really fun night in spite of having to wait around to perform.
Short and sweet tonight. Hope y'all had a good day. Much love.

Since blogspot wasting working last night, I'll let you know that I warmed up yesterday morning for about 20 min just to start my day. After that I tried to go see an apt. When I got there I rang the buzzer many times. I waited and waited, and waited some more until after 15 minutes I started ringing every buzzer that this old brownstone had. A woman finally answered the door and the first words out of her mouth are, "I'm sorry, the apt is being rented right now. He is literally writing the check for me. Would you still like to see it?" Why would I still want to see it?! What happens when I fall in love with it and now can't have it since you're renting it?! Good lord. Lol anyway......after I left I went downtown to have a voice lesson. I got some tea and went in. We did a short warm-up and then worked the rest of the time on "The Lazy Song" cause I finally got it transposed and printed!!!! Yyyyaaaaaaayyyyyy!! I then took class with Brice and went to dinner. Good day.
Today I took class with Derek Mitchell. Photo coming soon. Afterwards I rushed over to the east side to see some apts that were what we would definitely define as not a big bang for the buck. Blegh!!!! That was disappointing, but the apt will come soon. I hope...
On to the best part of my day. I got to go over to a friends place to start writing lyrics to a new track. It was amazing. As a singer I should be writing lyrics all the time, but I would much rather write to music than try and put music to my lyrics. It felt great. I emailed myself the 1st verse and chorus and now have half a song written took me about 2.5 hours to do but that was some of the best singing I've done in over a year. After writing I ran home, grabbed my camera and went to take pictures for Brice for his workshop and his website. They came out pretty good. Just had some dinner and now I'm gettin ready for bed. Much love. Have a good one.

Good lord. Of course all of my blogs come late night. Hope I don't get disqualified for that, but oh well. I gots things ta do!!! Lmao
So just finished dinner and started making some pineapple fro-yo here at home. The meal was homemade steak stir fry. Consisted of a seasoned flank steak cooked to medium sliced and thrown over teriyaki red, yellow and orange peppers, broccoli, and snap peas. Amazing!!!! I took a picture and then updated my iPhone software so I may have lost the picture. Boooooooo! But it was sooooo good!!!!!!!
Anyway enough about allergies for now. I'm sure you get it. Today I worked out my voice a few different times. Right when I got home and was searching for apartments I was working different parts of Musiq Soulchild "Love". I used to practice this song a minute ago, but just kind of lost touch with it. Now it does not sound at all good. I'm not happy about it. So I continued working the parts til I was blue in the face. Still sounds like s**t. So I will be taking it to vocal lesson tomorrow. I also worked on the Bruno Mars song again. This is coming along nicely and I finally figured out, with the help of my roommate Jack, that I need it in the key of A. Stoked because I will finally be able to practice this with Kurt at my lessons as well. Tomorrow when I have more time I get to explain the craziness of my frustration in apartment hunting. Aren't you excited?!?! Much love. Night.

Today was another awful allergy day. I'm having a really hard time functioning let alone singing every day lately. I know it's a bit dramatic, but I really do feel god awful. I wish it would just go away, but thanks to a long wet winter, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
My day today started off with a nice brunch at the Peanut Butter Co shop downtown where I had an amazing sandwich. I then tried to start really working on finding a new apartment. This has already proved to be a very trying task and I'm frustrated beyond belief. Prices in New York have gone up 34% in the last 3 months and they are still looking to raise prices. I can't even find a decent studio in a decent area for less than $1200 a month. It's killing me. Anyway, while trying to calm down from apt hunting I made my way to Ripley Grier where I had rehearsal/class with Hip Hop Heals Most Deafinitely again. We do this every Tuesday 5:30-7:00pm. I had not been a part of it for a while, but I'm actually very glad I got back into it regardless of the challenge or not. I think i may go back to school for my ASL certificates and such. That's another story.
This week we worked on their performing for one routine. It was clean, but the energy and performance aspects were lacking. So we discussed with the kids how to make it bigger and how a performer has to put their own energy and attitude into the piece. They will be showing the piece they worked on today during the last 10 minuts of Jamie Jackson's class at BDC this Sunday the 15th. I am really excited for them.
My singing today was the same as yesterday. It's becoming very much a routine. I know that is sort of the plan, but I want to work more and more every day and not have just the basic vocalizations. I need a push. Still looking for my C4. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I'm all ears. Much love.

Ok so it has been a crazy day today. I woke up and on my way to the gym had breakfast. Got to the gym and pushed through my exercises faster than normal. I was trying to make myself push harder to work the muscles differently. When I was done at the gym I headed to BDC to start my day of classes, the first of which I was late to. I took Neil Schwartz and then Brice Mousset. I was signed into the Amount Boys class at 430 but signed out because I was not feeling well after Brice. I couldn't get warm. I was sweating like crazy but very part of me was cold. Interestingly enough I overheard a bunch of other people saying they were feeling dizzy at the studio around the same time I wasn't feeling well. Who knows. I'm feeling better now so hopefully it was just coincidence.
As for my vocalizing I'm sad to say I didn't get as much done as I would have liked. I made it through half the cd again, which I know isn't terrible, but I really want to push for more. My allergies have gotten seriously out of control and I broke down and even bought nasal spray as the pills are not helping enough. The neti pot (pot with saline water and oils you pour through your sinuses) I bought didn't work because I wS so congested it just got trapped and put insane pressure on my head. This whole not having insurance thing sucks. Lol oh well. On to the next one. Much love to ya. Have a good one.
