Later this afternoon I took a dance class. My favorite, Jared Grimes. Being a part of his company is one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had. Performing movement that I love and am passionate about helps tremendously. It was the same routine as Monday per usual, but it being his last day of teaching for a few months, I came ready to perform. Instead of wearing the normal sweats or shorts, I had on my skinny jeans and a black tee, hair did and ready to go. The biggest thing that I have to work on is my mouth. When I really get into the choreo and am "in" it, my mouth drops open relaxed. I've been doing it since I was in high school and playing the drums. My mom is the first one who pointed it out to me. Playing the drums is one thing, but when dancing and performing I need to use my face not just relax in it. You'll see what I mean when I post the new video.....unless we re-tape it. We shall see. This is also the reason that I didn't get a picture today. I have the video. So be on the lookout for that.

MY ALLERGIES ARE CRAZY!!!!!!! Even when it's raining I can't catch a break. I wake up with swollen eyes and a dry sore throat every morning. I can't expect anything from my voice, but to hell if I'm gonna let it stop me. I went to brunch today and ate healthy, but forgot the picture. Whoops! LOL its ok. I'm pretty healthy most of the time so that won't be a problem. In any case, I didn't vocalize right when I woke up today. I'm trying to give it some rest and some warming up before I get really into it. For my vocalizing today I went to Kurt's technique class at BDC. We did a nice little warm-up where my voice felt amazing. I followed the girls up into their head and my falsetto with no flipping or cracking. I was able to clean up some notes that I've been flat on and felt really strong going into the songs. We worked first on "Cry Me a River' by Justin Timberlake. This is actually one of my favorite songs so singing along to this didn't phase me too much. I loved working through something where I felt comfortable since my voice has been so fried lately. After that we worked shortly on "Infatuation" by Christina Aguilera. Obviously meant more for the girls in the class, but it let me work on my chest voice and very slightly up into my middle. I felt very confident today with my voice which was refreshing since I've been so frustrated with it. The class was an hour long, but I also did some extra work on some Miguel songs later on.
